This is why when Harpreet and Nick- a lovely couple from the UK- contacted us asking for the direction of a memorable destination Indian wedding fairytale, we were more than excited to start planning a Sikh wedding in Athens Riviera like no other!

Harpreet and Nick wanted their wedding dream to unfold in three days of celebrations with 100 beloved witnesses of their special day. That is why we did our best to make each day count and be totally unforgettable, not only for them but for their guests as well. We made sure that their Indian wedding traditions would be fully respected and their Indian destination wedding in Greece would have the glory of a native one, and the magic touch of the Greek beauty and hospitality it deserved.

Unfolding God’s Plan

It is true: It all went according to God’s Plan.

Their fairytale started with an outdoor Sangeet and Mehndi Ceremony in a luxury seaside hotel on Athens Riviera. Taking advantage of the exotic beauty of the place, we organized a cozy beach celebration late in the evening, where both families had the ability to gather up and get to know each other, following all the traditional Indian rituals that prepare the couple for their big day. The sunset created the perfect backdrop that created a sacred, dramatic atmosphere for the Jaggo ceremony.

After a short, yet elegant dinner, the attendants let themselves dance to the desi-beat of mainstream Indian music and feel the beat of the Athenian nightlife.

Reflections of a supreme Sikh Wedding

On the big day, the weather was amazingly sunny, giving a spectacular aesthetic to Anand Karaj,  the official religious ceremony that took place in the morning. The celebrations started very early in order to welcome the couple. The energy, the crowd, the music, the colors, and the excitement was simply incredible, and being there to witness it all was truly an honor!

The wedding celebration began on the street, dancing cheerfully to the beat of the Punjabi dhol players, on their way to the wedding venue. A poolside white Mandap with cozy white pillows and pale pink and yellow roses and hydrangeas was set in a divine setting that created a romantic aesthetic. Dressed in light pink and gold colors, the groom and the bride arrived in a festive Doli celebration and enjoyed a phenomenal wedding ceremony according to all the Sikh traditions.

The third and final day was marked by a stylish, top-class closing celebration. A traditional seaside olive grove hosted the wedding reception late in the evening. A superior green and white floral arch welcomed the guests and created a hot photo spot for chic images. The overall decoration was sophisticated, yet discreet: the dining tables were set on natural grass in a Cycladic style with white floral touches and little candles that created a super romantic atmosphere. The couple arrived in flattering white and black outfits and made a grand entrance for the event to start. 

A delicious white wedding cake along with some champagne marked the first moments of sharing the materials of their united life.

 After an oh-so-romantic first dance, delicious catering service with Indian menus, and some tearful speeches, the party was set on fire. Remarkable fireworks in the Athenian sky were just the beginning of a crazy jamboree that left nobody seated till the early morning hours.

We were more than happy to be by Nick and Harpreet’s side in every step of this beautiful matrimonial, and live with them all the excitement and joy they shared during their destination Sikh wedding at the Athenian Riviera. Watching every little detail, we made sure that their fairytale was unfolded according to their desires and wishes. And it sure did!
